In a large number of chemical and industrial processes, the supply and removal of liquid and gaseous media is an essential part of the process. Especially in processes with media that are harmful to health or the environment, flammable, explosive or at high temperatures, the tightness of a connection plays an enormously important role not only for process efficiency but above all, for safety and for minimizing the risk to people and the environment. For this purpose, a completely new sensor system and an economical manufacturing process for applying it to a flange seal are needed where the sensor is supplemented by efficient processing electronics based on wireless data transmission technology.
